Tita passed away at the age of 84, Tito at 78!

The following 3 pictures were taken in Miami Circa 1950's.

Tita and the grand-kids (circa 25+ years ago).

The above 3 pictures are with their children and grandchildren.

Tita and Tito have been married for 60 years (and have
known each other for much longer than that)

Sitting in the sun....

The above picture has an infamous story to go with it. My grandparents
loved Chewbacca. She is a loving and well-behaved dog and they were mad about her. One day my grandfather had a mini stroke
(TIA) and consequently he suffered from amnesia. He didn't remember anyone in the family: daughters, grandkids, greatgrandkids,
no one. After work I went home and slipped this picture in my pocket knowing how he felt about the dog. Dressed in my scrubs
and lab coat I entered his room. He was having an early dinner and as I walked in he looked up from his tray and said "hello,
doctor". He couldnt remember me either. After asking him a battery of questions I became saddened and a little insulted that
he'd forgotten who I was. Then I reached in my pocket and whipped out the picture. He took it in his and and said "This is
Chewy. And I'm Tito. and you're Ricky..." and his memories came flooding back...!
The follwing 2 pictures are from a monument located in my
grandparents' home town of Camuy, Puerto Rico which honors the island's Veterans who've fought for this country. Tito's name
appears twice- for his tour of duty in the Korean War, and where Claudia is pointing for service in the Second World War where
he fought in Europe, the Pacific and Africa.
